UNSW St George Clinical School
Completed: 2019
Value: $2.5 Million
A new PC2 research laboratory for the St George & Sutherland Clinical School of UNSW Faculty of Medicine was constructed within an existing operating environment.
The new laboratory supports research into a variety of cancers for two major new research programmes along with associated office and write up space occupying the full extent of Level 2 of the St George Hospital Research & Education building. The new laboratory has extensive fume cupboard facilities and Biological Safety Cabinet arrays to support the University's specialised cancer research programme. BNMH had also previously designed combined research laboratory facilities for three separate UNSW research units located on Level 3 within space constructed as a cold shell area and therefore requiring extensive services installations and design coordination. Collaborative use laboratory spaces have been created on both levels in response to complex user group briefing facilitated by BNMH.
