UNSW Rural Clinical School
Completed: 2007 & 2013
Value: $6 Million
BNMH were commissioned by UNSW Rural Clinical School to design all of their regional campuses, following the success of our refurbishment and conversion of Harvey House at Wagga Wagga, which still serves as the heart of the Rural Clinical School. The initial stages of the new building designed by BNMH at Albury, Port Macquarie & Coffs Harbour were designed in 2006 with a view to future expansion depending upon the success of the new courses and BNMH were then instructed to design and complete stage 2 additions to each campus.
All campuses adopted designs that were sympathetic to the existing adjoining hospital campus buildings but with a presence and design quality that ensured UNSW RCS was recognised as a major part of the health infrastructure in these communities. The buildings contained lecture theatres and meeting spaces that not only supported the teaching programme for the senior medical degree students studies, but were also available for general local medical community meetings.
