Macquarie University Council Boardroom
Completed: 2016
The existing Council Boardroom within the Chancellery Building was outdated in design and technology with poor acoustics, no external light source and was considered almost unusable by the Vice Chancellor and the Council - it was the last area of the Chancellery to be upgraded after the earlier 2016 general refurbishment and re-planning works completed by BNMH.
We stripped the Council Room completely, cut in new windows to provide improved natural light, worked closely with our acoustic consultants to produce 3D acoustic computer models of the room to design new wall panelling and complex new ceiling and services installations. This was done to create a new acoustic environment where unamplified natural voice can now be used to support clear communication and discussion in the room which is now a favoured rather than shunned meeting space.
