Constitution Hill Retirement Complex

Completed: 2005
Value: $150 Million

A major scale retirement complex with planning based on a social grouping model following detailed community group interactive briefing sessions, this planning included a series of linked courtyard groups promoting social interaction, quiet meeting opportunities and a robust sense of community in each of the 12 stages.

425 self care units in community groups of between 28 and 72 self-care units ranging in size from one to three bedrooms, each with semi-enclosed recessed balconies making use of the bushland setting. An associated Community Centre provides a homely environment for a range of functions including self catered family celebrations, movies with full cinema seating, cooking and craft areas, a 'man shed' workshop area, swimming pool and spa facilities, card-playing and performance spaces plus various social group meeting areas.

A 121 bed high and low care Residential Aged Care Facility was also designed with an integrated landscaped courtyard concept creating a benchmark in aged care accommodation in Australia.
